Jenkins Mrs. Mabel C. Jenkins, 86, 356 Minton Hollow Road, Elizabethton, passed away on Friday, July 20, 2007, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief illness. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Rose Ann Morris Carter. Mrs. Jenkins was a homemaker and a charter member of Biltmore Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde B. Jenkins Sr., November 27, 1977, and by four sisters and a brother. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Lynn Montgomery of Elizabethton; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Clyde B. Jr. and Nell Jenkins, Donald and Patti Jenkins and Phillip Jenkins, all of Elizabethton, and Billy Lester and Judy Jenkins of Fayetteville, Ga.; four grandchildren and spouses, Heather and Andy Anderson, Tina and Mike Peters and Jeff Montgomery, all of Elizabethton, and Patricia and Roger Pack of McDonald, Ga.; two great- grandchildren, Whitney Hyatt and Josh Hyatt of Elizabethton; and a sister, Alice Danner of Knoxville. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The graveside service for Mrs. Jenkins will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 22, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Bobby Stout and Mr. Don Williams officiating. Music will be under the direction of the Pleasant Beach Quartet. Interment will immediately follow the graveside service. Active pallbearers will be Jeff Montgomery, Andy Anderson, Jerry Blevins, Grayson Richardson, Phil Issacs, Mike Peters and John Snavely. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Nave, Jimmy Tribble, Roger Pack, Champ Montgomery, Doc Issacs, Tracy Derick and friends and neighbors. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 3 p.m. Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, and at other times at her residence, 356 Minton Hollow Road, Elizabethton. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Peter Tuberty; Dr. Jeff Hopland; Dr. Martin Q. Tran; Johnson City Medical Center Hospital, 5500 Wing; and Sycamore Shoals Hospital, Third Floor, for the care shown to Mrs. Jenkins and her family.
