Ruby Johnson, 62, 609 Crook Street, Hampton, died Fiday, August 21, 1998 at 
her residence following an extended illness.

Mrs. Johnson was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late 
Milburn and Grace Smerly Odom. She was also preceded in death by a brother, 
Bernie Odom.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of Whitehead Hill Christian Church an was a retired 
employee of Snap-On Tools. She was a memberof the Order of the Easter Start, 
Hampton Chapter #470.

Survivors inclue her husband, Floyd Paul Johnson Sr. of the home; two 
daughters, Debbie Williams and Kennetha Robinson, both of Hampton; a son, 
Floyd Paul "Butch" Johnson Jr., Hampton, a sister, Ruth Garland Elizabethton; 
a brother, Bill Odom, Roan Mountain; and three grandchildren, Shonda Tairee, 
Daniel Paul and Cassie Grace Johnson, all of Hampton. Several nieces and 
nephews along with special friends, Betty McNeil, Della Whitehead, Betty 
Stout, June Potter Rash, Janet Fitts Davis, Paul Hampton and Russell Mink also 
survive. erick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
