Hannah H. Jones 





    Hannah Hyder Jones, age 82, formerly of Elizabethton, died Friday, Aug. 

25, 2006, in Hillcrest Nursing Home North, Knoxville, following an extended 

illness. Born in Carter County to the late James Frank and Bessie Catherine 

Grindstaff Hyder, she had worked many years in the Carter County Trustee's 

Office. Mrs. Jones was of the Baptist faith. 





    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, 

Fred and Glenn L. "Buddy" Hyder. 





    Survivors are one son and daughter-in-law, James and Deborah Jones, 

Knoxville; one daughter, Harriett Jones, Cleveland; one sister, Selma Roberts, 

Kingsport; and two sisters-in-law, Ellen Hyder, Elizabethton, and Lou Hyder, 

Columbia, S.C. Several nieces and nephews also survive. 





    The graveside service for Mrs. Jones will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday, 

Aug. 27 in Happy Valley Memorial Park, with the Rev. Darrell Holly 

officiating. Those attending are asked to meet at the cemetery at 3:55 p.m. 

Sunday. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. In lieu 

of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Jones' memory may be made to to 

Hillcrest-Beverly Foundation, 5321 Beverly Park Circle, Knoxville, TN 37918. 

Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, is serving the Jones family. Condolence
