Mr. Jenkins was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Harve and Ethel Simerly Jenkins. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Buryl Jenkins. Mr. Jenkins was a retired carpenter and a member of Valley Forge Christian Church. He was a member of the Elizabethton Elks Lodge No. 1847. Survivors include a brother, Finley Jenkins, Elizabethton; a sister, Maxine Franklin of Florida; and three nephews, Mike Jenkins, Jerry Jenkins and Buddy Franklin. Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the Jenkins Hollow Cemetery. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
