Johnson Walter Dallas Johnson, 81, 133 Hughes Lane, Johnson City, died Friday, May 18, 2001, at Life Care Center of Elizabethton after an extended illness. Mr. Johnson was a native of Carter County and a son of the late James Johnson and Wedy Campbell Johnson McNabb, and stepson of the late Clyde McNabb. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Gary Wayne Johnson II; a granddaughter, Carey Sanders; three brothers, Clay and Roy Johnson and C.B. McNabb; and two sisters, Virgie Gilbert and Myrtle Andrews. Mr. Johnson was a retired employee of Brunswick Corporation with 22 years of service. He was of the Christian Faith. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Correll Johnson, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Romona and Harold Stout, Jonesborough, and Rhonda and James Sanders, London, Ky.; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Patsy Johnson, Elizabethton; four grandchildren, Leslie Brickey and Wesley Johnson, both of Elizabethton, Jess Stout and Jimmy Sanders, both of Johnson City; and four great-grandchildren, Matthew and Jess Arron Stout, both of Johnson City, and Stephen and Ashley Brickey, both of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 20, at Memorial Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Graveside services and interment will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
