CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Gustava M. Johnson, 4 Dec 2002 ----¤¤¤---- Gustava M. Johnson Mrs. Gustava M. Johnson, 81, 914 DeJarnette Street, Elizabethton, died Wednesday, December 4, 2002 in the Ivy Hall Nursing Home. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late James and Lora Hyder McKinney. Mrs. Johnson was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation, having worked there for 42 years. She was a member of Simerly Creek Church of God. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Johnson, June 19, 1984, and by seven brothers and sisters. Survivors include three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Gladys Winters, Hampton; Phyllis and Len Wright, and Shelby and Louie Oliver, all of Elizabethton; one brother and sister-in-law, Alvin and Jackie McKinney, Elizabethton; three sisters-in-law, Letha McKinney and Shelby McKinney, both of Johnson City, and Margaret McKinney, Cleveland, Ohio. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. JOHNSON -- As per her request, the service for Mrs. Gustava M. Johnson, 81, 914 DeJarnette Street, Elizabethton, who died Wednesday, December 4, 2002 will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2002 in the Shrine of Good Shepherd Mausoleum, Roselawn Memory Gardens with the Rev. L.D. Berry officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Johnson to the Building Fund, Simerly Creek Church of God and Bobbie Chambers, Treasurer, 781 Piney Grove Road, Hampton, TN 37658.
