CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Floyd Paul Johnson, Sr., 19 Jun 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Floyd P. Johnson, Sr. Floyd Paul Johnson, Sr., age 73, Crook Street, Hampton, died Thursday, June 19, 2003, at his residence following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, Mr. Johnson was the son of the late Aaron Briston and Julie Beck Johnson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Odom Johnson, Aug. 21, 1998; two brothers, Earl Johnson and James D. Johnson, and four sisters, Novella McNeil, Ruella Hazelwood, Mollie McNeil, and Zola Dean. Mr. Johnson was of the Baptist faith and was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation. He was a member of the Hampton Masonic Lodge #750 F&AM. Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Williams, Hampton, and Kennetha Robinson, Hampton; one son, Butch Johnson, Hampton; three grandchildren, Shonda Johnson, Johnson City; Daniel Johnson, Hampton, and Cassie Johnson, Hampton; his step-mother, Sally Johnson, Warren, Ohio; three sisters, Jean Davis, Warren, Ohio; Sue Cozad, Warren, Ohio, and Jackie Rohrer, Warren, Ohio; three brothers, Ed Johnson, Warren, Ohio; Johnny Johnson, Warren, Ohio, and Beryl Johnson, Greeneville, Tenn., and several nieces and nephews. Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, 423-542-2232, is in charge of the arrangements. JOHNSON --Funeral services for Floyd Paul Johnson, Sr., age 73, 609 Crook Street, Hampton who died Thursday, June 19, 2003, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2003 at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, with Pastor Charles Cable officiating. Music will be under the direction of Ray Don Markland, Ruth Ann Cullop and Scott Reynolds. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2003 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be D. Simerly, Mitchell Smith, John Henson, Dean Burchett, Johnny Chambers, Bill Ballard, Gary Shingleton and Jerry McNeil. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Simerly, Howard Julian, Harold Presnell, Joe Norris, Paul Hampton, Wayne Shingleton, Tommy Shingleton and friends and neighbors. A special thank you to Adventa Hospice, Fred and Betty McNeil, Russell and Betty Mink, and his dog Sissy, for all their love, care and kindness to Mr. Johnson and his family. Those who plan to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m. Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery.
