CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Biddie Johnson, 24 Jun 2004 ----¤¤¤---- Biddie Johnson, 89, a resident of Life Care Center of Elizabethton, formerly of Carver Crabtree Rd., Hampton, went to be with the Lord Thursday, June 24, 2004 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late William and Jane Byrd Blevins. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and attended Pearce's Chapel and Fork Mountain Freewill Baptist Churches. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Johnson, and three sons, Herman Johnson, Thurman Johnson and Nick Johnson. Survivors are a daughter, Callie Tolley, of Hampton; one daughter-in-law, Edna Johnson, of Hampton; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Several great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Biddie Johnson will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2004 in the Tetrick Funeral Home Riverside Chapel with Rev. Clate Briggs and Rev. John Stevens officiating. Music will be under the direction of Jennifer Crabtree and her granddaughter, April. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday prior to the service or at other times at the residence of her daughter-in-law, Edna Johnson 108 Carver Crabtree Rd., Hampton. Graveside service and burial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 26, 2004 at the Whitehead Cemetery. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 12:50 p.m. for the service. Active pallbearers will be Terry Tolley, Josh Tolley, Jim Pitman, Joel Martin, Jack Smith and Gerald Watson. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Life Care Center of Elizabethton and the doctors and staff of Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
