CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Thelma L. Johnson, 23 Mar 2005 ----¤¤¤---- Mrs. Thelma L. Johnson, 85, Beech Street, Elizabethton, died Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at Hillview Health Care Center following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Johnson was a native and lifelong resident of Carter County and the daughter of the late Baxter R. and Fina Taylor Livingston. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J. Leo Johnson, in 1954. Mrs. Johnson had been a secretary to the Administrative Staff of Johnson City Medical Center for 21 years. She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church of Elizabethton and a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary Post No. 2166, the A.A.R.P., and the Elizabethton Senior Citizens. Survivors include a brother, James D. Livingston, Fredricksburg, Va.; a special cousin, Nadine Taylor Colbaugh, Elizabethton; and a special friend, Edith Collins, Elizabethton. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Graveside services for Mrs. Johnson will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, March 25, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Phil Poston officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Ritchie, W.L. Kimbro, Claude Emmert, Ken Goforth, Tim Erwin, Gale Colbaugh, Pat Arnold, Mike Collins, Joe Collins, past and present members of the Administrative Staff of Johnson City Medical Center and the Staff of Hillview Health Care Center.
