Joines, 77, 187 Lacy Hollow Road, Elizabethton, died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Joines was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late John and Mae Cook Irick. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Warnie Joines, July 26, 1962. Mrs. Joines was of the Baptist Faith and was retired from Sycamore Shoals Hospital as a Nursing Assistant. Survivors include two daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary Sams, of the home, Clinton Sams, Decatur, Ala., and Ethelene and D.L. Clawson, Elizabethton, and a brother, Claude Irick, Elizabethton. Eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Joines, 77, 187 Lacy Hollow Road, Elizabethton, who died Thursday, March 29, 2001, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 1, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, with the Rev. Mark Street officiating. Music will be under the direction of the Rev. Mark Street. Interment will follow the service on Sunday in the Rittertown Baptist Church Cemetery, Hampton. Active pallbearers will be Warnie Dean Jones, Herchel Ashcraft, Jim E. Clawson, David C. Clawson, Samuel L. Clawson and Steve Carr. Honorary pallbearers will be Clinton Sams and D.L. Clawson. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of a daughter, Ethelene Clawson, 183 Lacy Hollow Road, Elizabethton.
