Henry A. Jones



Henry A. Jones, 95, 102 Cantor Road, Elizabethton, died Friday, 

September 20, 2002, at the residence of a daughter in Bluff City 

following an extended illness.

Mr. Jones was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Edward 

B. and Louise Elizabeth OIiver Jones.

Mr. Jones was a retired explosives technician in construction. He was 

of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include three sons, H.A. Jones of North Carolina, Michael 

James Jones and Kenneth Jones, both of Iowa; two daughters, Clara Leota 

Jones Herrin, Bluff City, and Eva Etta Jones Smith, Coral Springs, Fla.; 

several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, 

nieces and nephews; some special nieces and a special nephew, Florence 

McCray, Johnson City, Cora Hill of Florida, Nell Bright of Illinois, 

Adia Leach of Florida and Isaac J. Whitaker, Piney Flats; and two 

stepchildren, Eddie Vanover and Geraldine Vanover, both of Johnson City.

JONES -- Graveside funeral services for Henry A. Jones, 95, 102 Cantor 

Road, Elizabethton, who died Friday, September 20, 2002, will be 

conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, September 23, at Poplar Ridge Cemetery with 

the Rev. Scott Watson officiating. The family will receive friends in 

the Bluff City Chapel from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday. Everyone will meet at 

the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Monday for the graveside service. Tetrick Funeral 

Home, Bluff City, is in charge of arrangements
