Quillen V.A. Medical Center Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Julian was a native of Carter County and the son of the late P.H. and Nellie Hughes Julian. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Howard, Roy and Pierce Julian, one sister, Georgia Pittman, and one foster son, Jimmy Mottern. Mr. Julian was a member of West Side Christian Church and a retired employee of Pharmaceal Laboratories. He was a member of the Captain Lynn H. Folsom V.F.W. Post #2166 and a former P.O.W. He worked as a volunteer at the V.A. with Prisoners of War, and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. Survivors include his wife, Frances Mottern Julian, of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Frank Taylor, Elizabethton; one son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Tammy Julian, Charlotte, N.C.; one brother, Evans Julian, San Diego, Calif.; one sister, Winnie McClain, Elizabethton; four grandchildren, Chad Taylor, Elizabethton, Chase, Chelsea and Cherish Julian, all of Charlotte, N.C.; and eight foster children, Mary France, Bobbie Seifert, David, Alfred, Ronnie, Eddie and Billy Mottern, and Sherry Mottern Hudson. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. JULIAN -- Funeral services for Ezekiel "Zeke" Julian, 75, 409 Orchard Road, Elizabethton, who died Friday, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, with Mr. Jim Curtis and Mr. Greg Keys, ministers, officiating. Music will be under the direction of Larey and Chris Pippin and Scott Reynolds, organist. Graveside services and interment will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Military Honors to be accorded by the Captain Lynn H. Folsom V.F.W. Post #2166. Active pallbearers will be nephews: Toby Julian, Donie Julian, Bud Julian, John McClain, Eddie Mottern, Billy Mottern and Ronnie Mottern. Honorary pallbearers will be Dean Fulton, Deaston Braswell, Bill Grindstaff, William Carpenter, Virgil Carpenter, John "Pete" Fagan, Bob Ross, Wright Swanay and Members of Prisoners of War (Johnson City). Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Monday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence any time.
