Julian, 85, 501 Cloudland Drive, Roan Mountain, Tenn., died Friday, July 28, 2000, in the Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness. A native of Mitchell County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Dovie Barnett Arrowood. Mrs. Julian was preceded in death by her husband, William Julian, and a brother, Tilman Arrowood. Mrs. Julian was a retired school teacher from the Avoca Elementary School and received her B.S. degree from Teacher State College. She was a member of the Magill Memorial Presbyterian Church and was active in numerous civic groups and clubs. Survivors include one brother, Mack Arrowood, N.C.; two sisters, Margaret Greene and Mary Parker, Johnson City; an uncle, Bert Barnett, Roan Mountain; four sisters-in-law: Virgie Brinkley, Roan Mountain; Lucy Blackwell and Thelma Myers, both of Elizabethton; and Olean Arrowood, Buladean, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews. Julian, 85, 501 Cloudland Avenue, Roan Mountain, Tenn., who died Friday, July 28, 2000, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Magill Memorial Presbyterian Church with Dr. William Goforth officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Knight Cemetery, Hampton Creek community. music will be under the direction of the Magill Memorial Presbyterian Church Choir. Pallbearers will be nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Magill Memorial Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at Magill Memorial Presbyterian Church. The family of Edna Julian, longtime member of Magill Memorial Presbyterian Church, has established a memorial fund in her name, for the benefit of children attending the Avoca Elementary School. The purpose of the fund is to provide financial assistance to students in need of books or classroom supplies that are necessary for their education.
