Julian Jr. James N. Julian Jr., 78, 384 Garrison Hollow Road, Elizabethton, died Tuesday, November 7, 2000, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Julian was a native of Carter County and the son of the late James N. Sr. and Vista Honeycutt Julian. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn Reginald Julian and Adrian Julian. Mr. Julian was a member of the Roan Mountain Seventh-day Adventist Church. He was a former employee of the Carter County Sheriff's Department as a dispatcher; a former employee of the Carter County Register of Deeds Office; a former employee of the U.S. Treasury Department in Washington, D.C.; and a former part-time employee of Tetrick Funeral Home, Rhododendron Chapel. Survivors include his wife, Juanita Edney Banner Julian, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Richard Catts, Jacksonville, Fla., and Betsy Ruth and Jack Barnett, Elizabethton; three grandsons; a sister, Mrs. Thelma Julian Romer; and two brothers, Durward Julian, Roan Mountain, and Paul Julian, Baltimore, Md. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Julian Jr., 78, 384 Garrison Hollow Road, Elizabethton, who died Tuesday, November 7, 2000, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, November 9, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Rhododendron Chapel, Roan Mountain, with Pastor B. Kurt Styron officiating. Music will be under the direction of the Street Sisters. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Friday, November 10, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Jackie Barnett, O.J. Roberson Jr., Roger McKinney, Tracy Taylor, John Tom Edney, Roger Edney and Raymond Stout. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Roan Mountain Seventh-day Adventist Church, Kenneth Deloach, Johnny Holdren, Lawrence Dial, D.C. Simerly, Frank Campbell, Odes Roberson, Eugene Edney, friends and neighbors. Everyone will meet at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, at 10:15 a.m. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Tetrick Funeral Home, Rhododendron Chapel, or at the residence, 384 Garrison Hollow Road, Elizabethton, any time.
