CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Georgia G. Shepherd Kappes, 6 Oct 2003 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Georgia Kappes GORDONVILLE, Texas -- Mrs. Georgia G. Shepherd Kappes, Seminole Dr., Gordonville, Texas died Monday, October 6, 2003, following a brief illness. A native of Carter County, having lived in Texas the past thirty- two years, she was the daughter of the late George Dewey and Josie Hubbard Shepherd, formerly of Elizabethton. She was preceded in death by a son, Dewey Edward Tyree; a grandson, Tommy Heading; an infant brother, James Paul Shepherd, and two sisters, Effie Gentry and Juanita Honeycutt. Survivors include her husband, Paul Kappes of the home; five daughters, Mary Jeanette Peters, of Elizabethton; Dorothy Faye Southern, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; Judith Ann Antic, of Granada Hills, Calif.; Frankie Gene Jesionowski, of Canton, Ga., and Frances Marie Hopkins, of Hampton; two sisters, Lelia Jane Rasnick, of Johnson City and Beulah Price, of Grafton, Ohio, and two brothers, Hubert Shepherd and Herman Shepherd, both of Johnson City. Several grandchildren, great- grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Mrs. Georgia G. Shepherd Kappes will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2003 at Huff Funeral Home in Whitesboro, Texas. A memorial service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, October 11, 2003 at Prayer Tabernacle Church, 811 Cedar Avenue, Elizabethton.
