Kelly Helen Ellis Kelly, 80, 1603 Broad Street, Elizabethton, died Thursday, February 1, 2001, at her residence. Mrs. Kelly was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Fred and Hattie Carroll Ellis. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, James Howard Sheffield, in 1973, her second husband, Melville Kelly, in 1988, a sister, Margaret Ragan, and a brother, Ed Ellis. Mrs. Kelly retired from Carter County Memorial Hospital as a nurse following 20 years of service. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Elizabethton. Survivors include a daughter, Anna Sheffield Deal, Elizabethton; two sons, Timothy James Sheffield, Richmond, Va., and Thomas Howard Sheffield, West Palm Beach, Fla.; a sister, Hildred Hardin, Cleveland; and three grandchildren, Allyson Honeycutt Miller, Brett Alastair Honeycutt and Scott Kerns Sheffield.
