Kerley 09/02/99 Keith R. Kerley, 73, Milligan College Road, Milligan College, died Tuesday, August 31, 1999, at Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Kerley was a native of Carter County. He was a retired furniture salesman and farmer and a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific. He was a member of the Captain Lynn H. Folsom VFW Post #2166 and was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Kerley was preceded in death by his mother, Wilmetta Elliott, his stepfather, Jim Elliott, a sister, Eva Greer Sexton, and his twin brother, Kermit Kerley. Survivors include his wife, Marie Pealer Kerley, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marsha and Jess Garland, Jonesborough, and Marlene and Ivin "Buddy" Good, Pinecrest; a brother, Perry "Sonny" Greer, North Augusta, Ga.; six grandchildren, Valerie Dykes, Kim Garland, T.J. Garland, Marie Tressler, Ivin Good and Emily Good; and three great- grandchildren, Garrett Dykes, Vanessa Dykes and Alex Tressler. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, is in charge of arrangements KERLEY -- Funeral services for Keith R. Kerley, 73, Milligan College Road, Milligan College, who died Tuesday, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, with Rev. D.C. Byrd officiating. Music will be under the direction of Louie Blevins. Graveside services and interment will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Clif Tressler, Gabe Curde, James Hopkins, Robert Trent, Danny Gibson, Kirk Anderson, Steve Kerley, Brian Taylor and Josh Curde. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Curde, the Nurses on MICU 2600 at Johnson City Medical Center, Bill Sellers, Marshall Harrison, Carroll "Moose" Mann, Carroll Broome, Bruce Pealer and Roy Pealer. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence, Milligan College Road, Milligan College, any time. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
