Kidd 04/09/99 Mrs. Mary Depew Underwood Kidd, 85, 521 Ely Road, Hixson, died Wednesday, April 7, 1999, at Hamilton County Nursing Home, Chattanooga, after a brief illness. Mrs. Kidd was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Roy B. Depew Sr. and Mabel Buck Depew. She was also preceded in death by two husbands, Wilkins Underwood and Samuel W. Kidd, a sister, Bennie Depew, and six brothers, R.B. Depew Jr., Clyde Depew, Bill Depew, Robert Depew, James Depew and Walter Depew. Mrs. Kidd had lived in Chattanooga for the past 11 years. She was a retired bookkeeper with Summers Hardware, Johnson City. She was a graduate of Happy Valley High School. She was a member of East Side Free Will Baptist Church but attended the White Oak United Methodist Church, Hixson. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Ethel Underwood, Chattanooga; a brother and seven sisters-in-law, John and Mary Depew, Johnson City, Ann Depew, Sharon Depew, Virginia Depew, Agnes Depew, Joyce Depew and Willie Depew; two grandchildren, Charles Underwood, Hixson, and Steve Underwood, Manchester, Tenn.; and a great-grandson, Kyle Underwood. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. KIDD -- Graveside services for Mrs. Mary Depew Underwood Kidd, 85, 521 Ely Road, Hixson, who died Wednesday, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Reggie Weems officiating. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, will be Gary Sanders, David Depew, Randy Watkins, John Fisher, Arvil McKinney and Gary Depew. Friends may call at the funeral home any time Friday. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Saturday to go to the cemetery. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
