CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Anna Hopson Kinch, 20 Jun 2004

Anna Hopson Kinch, Hillview Dr., Elizabethton, died Sunday, 
June 20, 2004, at her residence, following a lengthy illness.
Ms. Kinch was a Roan Mountain native and had been a resident of Johnson 
City for most of her life.

She was a daughter of the late Caney and Lealia Scoggins Hopson.
Ms. Kinch was retired from Elizabethton High School where she was an 
English teacher for 31 years.

She was a graduate of East Tennessee State Teachers College.
Ms. Kinch was a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Louie Kinch, in 1975; 
one infant daughter; five brothers, Ed, Avery, Frank, Clyde and Henry 
Hopson.

Ms. Kinch is survived by a sister-in-law, two nephews, two nieces and a 
very special friend, Melba Poteat.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Carol 
Hutchins and the staff at Hillview Health Center.

The graveside funeral service for Ms. Kinch will be held Wednesday, June 
23, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. in the Happy Valley Memorial Park. The Rev. 
George P. Higgins and the Rev. James Linsay, will officiate. Pallbearers 
will be C.B. Kinch, Louie Ray Kinch, Brantley Kinch, Justin Kinch, David 
Whetzel, Andy Whetzel and Jerry Baker. Those planning to attend the 
service are to meet at the cemetery by 10:20 a.m. Wednesday. There will 
be no formal visitation; however, friends may register their presence 
Tuesday, June 22, 2004, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Memorial 
contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Northeast 
Tennessee Chapter, 207 N. Boone St., Suite 1500, Johnson City, TN 37604.
