Linville Richard Leland Linville, 82, of Elizabethton, died Monday, December 10, 2007, at Life Care Center of Elizabethton. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late M.W. "Bill" Linville of New York and Aileen Edens Linville of Elizabethton. Mr. Linville was a graduate of Elizabethton High School and East Tennessee State University. He was a Finance Manager with Courtesy Motors and Cox Oldsmobile. He retired from Murray Guard. Mr. Linville was a Charter Member of First Presbyterian Church of Elizabethton. He was a member of the Elizabethton Elks Lodge and the VFW Post No. 2166. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Larry A. Cole. Survivors include his wife, Betty Pate Linville; a son and daughter-in- law, Richard Joe and Amanda Linville, Elizabethton; a stepdaughter and her husband, Linda A. Cole and Scott Buker, Greenback, Tenn.; and a grandson, Jason Ray Davis, Cleveland, Tenn. A memorial service for Mr. Linville will be conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Doug Rinshaw officiating. The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to Adventa Hospice for all their care. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Northeast Tennessee, 207 N. Boone Street, Johnson City, TN 37604.
