Richard L. Linville 





    Richard Leland Linville, 82, of Elizabethton, died Monday, December 10, 

2007, at Life Care Center of Elizabethton. 





    A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late M.W. "Bill" Linville 

of New York and Aileen Edens Linville of Elizabethton. 





    Mr. Linville was a graduate of Elizabethton High School and East Tennessee 

State University. He was a Finance Manager with Courtesy Motors and Cox 

Oldsmobile. He retired from Murray Guard. 





    Mr. Linville was a Charter Member of First Presbyterian Church of 

Elizabethton. He was a member of the Elizabethton Elks Lodge and the VFW Post 

No. 2166. 





    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Larry 

A. Cole. 





    Survivors include his wife, Betty Pate Linville; a son and daughter-in-

law, Richard Joe and Amanda Linville, Elizabethton; a stepdaughter and her 

husband, Linda A. Cole and Scott Buker, Greenback, Tenn.; and a grandson, 

Jason Ray Davis, Cleveland, Tenn. 





    A memorial service for Mr. Linville will be conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday, 

December 12, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Doug Rinshaw 

officiating. The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to Adventa 

Hospice for all their care. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. 

Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to 

the Alzheimer's Association of Northeast Tennessee, 207 N. Boone Street, 

Johnson City, TN 37604. Online condolences to the Linville family may be e-

    Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
