Livingston Ray Lee Livingston, 71, of Elizabethton, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, September 24, 2005, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Mr. Livingston was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Don Charles and Laura Alice Merritt Livingston. Mr. Livingston was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation after 31 years of service. He was a member of Valley Forge Church of God and a Life Member of the Carter County Rescue Squad. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Glenda Collins Livingston; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jacky and Cynthia Livingston and Rev. Keith and Kim Livingston, all of Elizabethton; four grandchildren, Nathan, Jon, Tyler and Tanner; two sisters, Corine Pippin, Elizabethton, and Marie Stout, of Indiana; and a brother, Arvel Livingston, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Livingson will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with his son, Rev. Keith Livingston, Rev. Eddie Childress and Rev. Earl Golden officiating. Music will be provided by Kim Livingston, soloist, and Jon Livingston, flutist. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 28, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, will be Chad Livingston, Kevin Fritts, Roy Livingston, Roger Lambert, Steve Privette, Kevin Collins, Steve Shaffer, Jack "Bud" Collins and Richard Livingston. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Lambert, Bobby Merritt, W.A. Jones, Donnie Collins and members of the Carter County Rescue Squad. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday to go to the cemetery. Condolences to the Livingston family may be e-mailed to mfc@chartertn.net.
