Lohr Mary R. Lohr, 74, born in Carter County, the daughter of the late John and Sally Miller Honeycutt, passed away Monday, July 9, 2007, at Johnson City Medical Center following her courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Lohr had lived in Highpoint, N.C., for 40 years prior to moving to Hampton 10 years ago. Mary was a member of Sims Hill Christian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Honeycutt, a sister, Zora Slate, and a great-grandson, Joshua Walters. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Billy R. Lohr, of the home; a daughter, Sharon Smith of Hampton; a son, Steven Lohr of Thomasville, N.C.; a sister, Ethel Snyder of Elizabethton; a brother, Gene Honeycutt of Hampton; a special friend, Marilyn Wilson of Kernersville, N.C.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family will be receiving friends anytime at 283 Sally Cove Creek Road in Hampton. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, at Sims Hill Christian Church in Elizabethton with Pastor Brett Jones officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations "In Memory of Mary R. Lohr" be sent to Sims Hill Christian Church Benevolence Fund, 206 Sims Hill Road, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
