Love Elizabeth "Betty" Williams Love, 75, of Elizabethton, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter, Nancy Owens, of Knoxville, Tenn., on Wednesday, July 4, 2007. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin Harrison and Nancy Maude VanHuss Williams. Mrs. Love was a graduate of Elizabethton High School and E.T.S.U. She was retired from the Elizabethton City School System, where she taught third grade at Harold McCormick Elementary School. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she served as President of the United Methodist Women, and was a former member of the Chancel Choir. Mrs. Love was an avid traveler and most recently had gone to the Czech Republic on a mission trip in 2006. She was a volunteer of the Elizabethton Public Library and former member of the Elizabethton Women's Civic Club. She was a great supporter of the arts, including local plays and especially Barter Theatre. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert N. "Bob" Love, December 24, 1997, and two sisters, Christine Justis and Beatrice Alexander. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Julia and Andy Pasillas and Nancy and Chris Owens, all of Knoxville; a son and daughter-in-law, Rob and Lisa Love of Johnson City; a sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Richard Lovette of Elizabethton; a brother, Dr. Ben Williams of Columbia S.C.; three sisters-in-law, Mary Jo Allen of Elizabethton, Evelyn Starnes of Kingsport and Ann Balch of Jefferson City; and seven grandchildren, Andrea Pasillas and Drew Pasillas, both of Knoxville, Abbie Love, Hannah Love and Ellen Love, all of Johnson City, Christopher Owens and Catie Owens, both of Knoxville. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Mrs. Love will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 7, at First United Methodist in Elizabethton with Rev. Buford Hankins officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service, and at other times at the residence. The graveside service and interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Johnson City. Active pallbearers will be Andy Pasillas, Chris Owens, Drew Pasillas, Christopher Owens, Rich Lovette and Barry Tait. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to First United Methodist Church, 325 East E Street, Elizabethton, or the Susan G.
