Ann M. Lyons 





    Mrs. Ann Marie Franklin Anderson Lyons, 71, 1013 Pearl Street, 

Elizabethton, died Monday, December 25, 2006, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital 

following a lengthy illness. 





    A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Charles and 

Ruth Hyder Franklin. 





    Mrs. Lyons had been a teacher for 32 years, seven years in the Carter 

County School System and 25 years in Richlands, Va. She was a member of East 

Side Baptist Church and was a member of the Ladies Golf Association. 





    Survivors include her husband, Jack T. Lyons, of the home; a daughter and 

son-in-law, Nikki and Travis Younce of Bristol; a son and daughter-in-law, 

Rikki and Scarlett Anderson of Roan Mountain; a stepson, James Lyons of 

Elizabethton; a stepdaughter, Rebekah Lewis of Rutherfordton, N.C.; and seven 

grandchildren, Micah Lewis, Ashleigh Lewis, Katie Lyons, Justin Anderson, 

Alden Anderson, Baylor Anderson and Cayden Annagail Anderson. Several cousins 

also survive. 





    The funeral service for Mrs. Lyons will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, 

December 28, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with Rev. 

Mike Belcher and Rev. Ralph Coleman officiating. Music will be under the 

direction of Mrs. Brenda Pelham. Interment will follow the funeral service at 

Highland Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jim Hyder, Jim Bob Addington, 

Dwight Goad, James Lyons, Clifford Hughes and Jiles Hughes. Honorary 

pallbearers will be members of the Ladies Golf Association, doctors and nurses 

of the Second Floor and I.C.U. of Sycamore Shoals Hospital and Dr. Vivian 

Clark. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 2 p.m. 

Thursday or at the residence, 1013 Pearl Street, Elizabethton, at anytime. In 

lieu of flowers to those who desire memorials may be made to the Hansonville 

Baptist Church, P.O. Box 523, Lebanon, VA 24266. Online condolences may be

    Arrangements for the Lyons family have been entrusted to Hathaway-Percy 

Funeral Home.
