Lacey 1/04/00 Marie Ruth Lacey, 81, Roan Highland Nursing Center, Roan Mountain, formerly of Route 1, Roan Mountain, died Monday, January 3, 2000, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Mrs. Lacey was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late G.W. and Ida Julian Garland. She was also preceded in death by a son, Ron Lacey. Mrs. Lacey was a member of Roan Mountain Holiness Church and was a retired Aide with the Carter County School System. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila and Gene Buck, Roan Mountain, and Shirley and Richard Nageotte, Staford, Va., and three sisters, Wanda Denton, Betty Berry and Sara Lou Weeks, all of Roan Mountain. Twelve grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Tetrick Funeral Home, Rhododendron Chapel, Roan Mountain, is in charge of arrangements. www.Funeral-Plans.com/Tetric LACEY -- Funeral services for Marie Ruth Lacey, 81, Roan Highland Nursing Center, Roan Mountain, formerly of Route 1, Roan Mountain, who died Monday, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Tetrick Funeral Home, Rhododendron Chapel, Roan Mountain, with Rev. Keith Gwyn officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mrs. Charlotte Smith, organist. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at Johnson-Roan View Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Wesley Hanson, Elmer Haines and the staff of Roan Highlands Nursing Center. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Friends may also call at the home of her daughter, Sheila Buck, 129 Blue Grass Road, Roan Mountain. The family, friends, ministers and pallbearers will meet at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery.
