CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Charlotte Sue McQueen Lady, 10 Jul 2005 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Mrs. Charlotte Sue McQueen Lady, 71, of Johnson City, died Sunday, July 10, 2005, at the residence of her son after an extended illness. A native of Carter County, she was born on February 12, 1934, to the late Lee Harvey and Nannie Smith McQueen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Harry, Shirley, Albert, J.D. Kenneth and F.M. McQueen. Mrs. Lady worked as a supervisor with Baxter Pharmaseal before retiring. She was a member of Harrison Christian Church where she served as Youth Leader, was a choir member, was a member of the Ladies Circle, and served on the Decorating Committee. She had a very fond appreciation for music. She also enjoyed sewing, gardening, gemstone tree making, and walking. Survivors include her husband, Jack Lady, Johnson City; two sons, Bobby Jack Lady Sr. and Gary Eugene Lady, both of Johnson City; two sisters and brothers- in-law, Beatrice and F.D. Elliott and Margie and Ray Lyons, all of Elizabethton; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Ivan and Jan McQueen, Charles and Jenny McQueen and George and Louise McQueen, all of Elizabethton; three grandchildren, Bobby Lady Jr., Deanna Lady and Gary Edward Lady; a very special nephew, Jay Tyree, Chesapeake, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Lady will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services with Mr. Robbie Phillips, minister, officiating. A eulogy will be given by her son, Bobby. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel prior to the service. Active pallbearers will be Bobby Lady Jr., Gary Edward Lady, Gary Kimbrough, Joe Curtis, Robert Miller and Ed Townsend. Honorary pallbearers will be JCMC Hospice, Johnson City Fire Department, Mike Lady, David Lady and Steve Smith. The committal service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Everyone is asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:20 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 508 Princeton Road, Suite 102, Johnson City, TN 37601-2030.
