Dorothy June Large 

Dorothy June Large, 77, 1105 Lynndale Drive, Elizabethton, died Saturday, 
October 26, 2002, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. 
A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late George and 
Ida King Holly. She was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Large, 
Sr., and one sister, Edna Williams. 
Mrs. Large was a retired employee with the Elizabethton City School 
System. She was a past member of the P.T.A. and was very active in the
band boosters. She was also a former Girl Scout leader. She was a 
member of the First United Methodist Church. 
Survivors include a son, John B. Large, Jr., Elizabethton; a daughter, 
Jonda Large, Elizabethton; two grandchildren, Holly Tolley and Julie 
Large, both of Elizabethton; on great-grandson, Dylan Tolley, Elizabethton; 
two brothers and sisters-in-law, (Ret.) Colonel G.J. and Dot Holly, 
Sarasota, Fla., and Bill and George Ann Holly, Anderson, S.C.; several 
nieces and nephews also survive.

LARGE -- The funeral service for Dorothy June Large, 77, 1105 Lynndale 
Drive, Elizabethton, who died Saturday will be conducted at 8 p.m., 
Tuesday, October 29, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, 
Elizabethton with Dr. Terry L. Greer officiating. The graveside service 
and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 30, at 
Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Dave Rider, Conn
Nave, Lawrence Range, Jr., Ed Alexander, John Klock, Willie Church, 
Larry Bowers, Clinton Vannoy and Larry Anderson. Honorary pallbearers 
will be Harry and Mary Fine, Sarah and Sonny Murray, John and Glenda 
Hall, Frank and Gerri Baker, Bill and Doris Scott, Bill and Catherine 
Armstrong, Paul and Carolyn Pless, Ernie Johns, James Carroll, Will 
Andrews, Dr. Michael Brown, Delbert and Joyce Loudermilk, Dr. Ruben 
Pierce, Dalton Tolley and the 1938 football team of Elizabethton High 
School. Special Chambers, Joan Thomas and Vee Shell. Those who plan to 
attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:55 
a.m. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, October 29, 
at the funeral home or at the residence at anytime. Those who prefer 
memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the Library at 
Elizabethton High School, 901 West E. Street, Elizabethton, TN, 37643.
