Adele H. Lawrence, 600 McClellan Dr., died in the Johnson City Memorial
Hospital on Thursday following a brief illness.  Mrs. Lawrence had moved to
Elizabethton six years ago from Bedford, Pa., where she had been active in
setting up a community career and college entrance guidance clinic under the
American Association of University Women.  She was also active in the Bradford
Hospital Auxiliary and the Literary Club of Bedford.  Upon moving to
Elizabethton, she became active in the Woman s Club, and the Elizabethton Book
Club.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, serving as church
librarian.  Survivors include her husband. F.I.L. Lawrence of the home; a
daughter, Mrs. William Campbell, Moravia, N.Y.; one sister, Jean Heylmum of
Moravia, N.Y.; and two grandsons, William and Lawrence, also of Moravia, N.Y. 
A memorial service will be held on Sunday afternoon at 3 o clock at the First
Presbyterian Church.  In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the First
Presbyterian Church Library Fund
