CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Hildra Leonard, 26 Jun 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Hildra Leonard Hildra Leonard, age 79, Dennis Cove Road, Hampton, died Thursday, June 26, 2003, in Elizabethton, following a brief illness. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Jake and Nancy Jones Potter. Mrs. Leonard was the oldest active member of Hampton Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert (Bob) Leonard, three brothers and five sisters. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Sherry Leonard, Kenneth and De.De. Leonard, all of Elizabethton; two sisters, Okie Calhoun, of Hampton, and Florence McDonald of Adrian, Mich.; two grandsons, Josh Leonard of Abingdon, Va. and G. W. Grindstaff of Elizabethton; two granddaughters and one spouse, Bonnie Jo Cordell of Elizabethton; Randy and Angel Laroche of Elizabethton; two great granddaughters, Sierra Garland and Emily Grindstaff both of Elizabethton; one special niece, Patsy Erwin of Elizabethton; several nieces and nephews. Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, is in charge of arrangements. LEONARD -- The funeral service for Hildra Leonard, age 79, Dennis Cove Road, Hampton who went to be with the Lord Thursday, June 26, 2003, will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2003, in the Tetrick Funeral Home Riverside Chapel with Rev. Gene Osborne and Rev. Larry Ledford officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. prior to the service in the chapel. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2003 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Jess Simerly, J. D. Calhoun, Dale Stevens, Steve Rainbolt, Larry Ledford, Jeff Erwin, Bobby Rainbolt, and David Higgins.
