Lewis Sr. Kenneth Pearl Lewis Sr., 84, 111 Hazelwood Hollow Road, Hampton, died Friday, March 2, 2001, at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center Hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Lewis was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Pearl and Annie Carden Lewis. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ressie Hazelwood Lewis; two sons, Kenneth Pearl Lewis Jr. and Robert Wayne Lewis; a granddaughter, Celia Ann Campbell; and an infant daughter, Gaynell Lewis. Mr. Lewis was a member of the Union Baptist Church and a retired employee of Raytheon Corporation. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #750 F&AM and a World War II Decorated Veteran, having serve in the U.S. Navy. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Eugene and Renee Lewis, Hampton, and Kyle and Diane Lewis, Elizabethton; three daughters and sons-in-l aw, Kay and Ralph Pierce and Sandra and Charlie Isakson, all of Hampton, and Mary and Harold Parrish, Babson Park, Fla.; ten granddaughters; three grandsons; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond Lewis and Melvin Lewis, both of Elizabethton; three sisters, Beulah Lewis, Hampton, Georgia Shoun, Elizabethton, and Lena Lawson, of Indiana; a lifelong friend, Bill Campbell, Hampton; and two sisters-in-law, Vivien Lewis, Elizabethton, and Margie Lewis, Hampton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, (423) 543-4917, is in charge of arrangements. www.Funeral-Plans.com/Tetrick LEWIS -- Funeral services for Kenneth Pearl Lewis Sr., 84, 111 Hazelwood Hollow Road, Hampton, who died Friday, March 2, 2001, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday, March 4, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, with the Rev. Ronnie Campbell and the Rev. Mickey Beal officiating. Music will be under the direction of Linda Ramsey, organist. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 5, at Union Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors accorded by the Captain Lynn H. Folsom VFW Post #2166. Active pallbearers will be Glenn Campbell, Jeffrey Holtsclaw, Bob Lewis Jr., Charlie Isakson, Jerry Heaton, Randy Payne, Bill Austin, Terry Montgomery and Dean Maxwell. Honorary pallbearers will be Staff of the VA Extended Care Facility and Nurses and Staff of Ivy Hall Nursing Home. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. Monday for the graveside services.
