CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Campbell "Herman" Lewis, 27 Aug 2002 ----¤¤¤---- Campbell H. Lewis Campbell "Herman" Lewis, 86, 316 Peters Hollow Road, Elizabethton, died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2002, in the Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness. A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late John F. and Ruth Campbell Lewis. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard and Norman Lewis. He was a member of Union Hill Free Will Baptist Church. Mr. Lewis was a retired employee of Mapes Piano String Co. He was a farmer. Survivors include his wife, Nellie White Lewis, of the home, three daughters and two sons-in-law, Judy and Don Williams, Elizabethton, Sherry and Buford Peters, Elizabethton, and Linda Lewis, Elizabethton, two granddaughters and spouse, Melanie and Chris Schuettler, Elizabethton, Katie Williams, Elizabethton, three great-grandchildren, Corie, Cody and Colton Schuettler, all of Elizabethton, one nephew, John M. Lewis, Johnson City, one niece, Sonja Kelly, Galveston, Texas, and special friend, Todd Lowe, Elizabethton. Byrd officiating. Music will be under the direction of Dennis Laws. The graveside service and interment will be Friday, Aug. 30, at Ritchie Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Joey White, Lawrence Pierce, Kenneth Shankle, Jesse Colbaugh, Kenneth Colbaugh, Ralph Wilson, Clifford Peters and Norman Peters. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry White, Jason White, M.L. Fisher, Greg Fisher, Edward Wilson, Mike Wilson, Howard Sheffield, Vaughn Taylor, C.W. Rambo, Bobby Grubb, William Schaff, Dr. Jeff Farrow and the nursing staff of the sixth floor, Johnson City Medical Center Hospital. Those who plan to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:55 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30.
