CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Georgia Anna Williams Lewis, 9 Nov 2002 ----¤¤¤---- Georgia Lewis Mrs. Georgia Anna Williams Lewis, 93, 114 Bernie Lewis Road, Elizabethton, died Saturday, November 9, 2002 in the Life Care Center. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Abraham B. and Loretta Rachel Frazier Williams. Mrs. Lewis was a member of the Watauga Valley Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernie B. Lewis, July 12, 1991; by a daughter, Betty Jo Lewis, in 1933; a son, George McBernie Lewis, in 1947; by six brothers, Albert, Dewey, Lonnie, Rex, Ted and Harry Williams, and four sisters, Pearl Williams, Daisy Grindstaff, Ruby Nidiffer, and Josie Hodges. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Leonard and Juanita Lewis, and Carrell and Martine Lewis, all of Elizabethton, and two sisters, Flossie Williams and Violet Branch, both of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. LEWIS -- Funeral services for Mrs. Georgia Anna Williams Lewis, 93, 114 Bernie Lewis Road, Elizabethton, who died Saturday, November 10, 2002, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday, November 11, 2002 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James Richardson officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2002 in the Wilson Cemetery with the Rev. Clate Briggs officiating. Music will be provided by Joy Dean Babb. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday will be Kenneth Williams, J.C. Robinson, Wade Woods, Jim May, Sherril Perry, Harley Crowe, Mack Collins, and Harold Morrell. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews, friends and neighbors, and her special friends, the staff of Life Care Center. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, November 11, 2002 in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of her son and daughter-in-law, Leonard and Juanita Lewis.
