CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Ruth W. Lewis, 25 Nov 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Ruth W. Lewis Ruth W. Lewis, age 77, Fox Meadow Road, Elizabethton, died Tuesday, November 25, 2003 at her residence following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Ruby Reynolds Williams. She was a member of First Christian Church, Elizabethton, where she was a member of the Sunshine Circle and Fidelis Class, where she had held various positions. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne C. Lewis, two sons, Gary Lewis, Larry Lewis, and one sister, Betty Williams. Survivors include two sons, Eddie Lewis, Elizabethton; Steve Lewis, Johnson City; one daughter, Betty Lewis, Elizabethton; two grandchildren, Aarron Lewis, Jessi Lewis, both of Elizabethton; two sisters, Linda Osborne, Jane Montgomery, both of Elizabethton; three special cousins, Emogene Thompson, Susan McKinney, both of Elizabethton; Mary Gordon, Sarasota, Fla.; and a daughter-in-law, Jan Malezis, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at Tetrick Funeral Home Riverside Chapel with Mr. Brent Nidiffer, minister and Rev. Roby Osborne officiating. Music will be under the direction of Gene Estep. The graveside service and interment will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 28, 2003 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Marc Montgomery, Joe Sommers, Rick Moore, Kenny Carter, Leonard February, Charles Pearson, Curt Emmert and Denny Wayne Emmert. Honorary pallbearers will be Ross Osborne, Vince Hodge, Jack Holland, Emery Thornburg, Don Nanney, Randy Pippin, Chris Garland and Steve Smith, Eddie Harris and members of First Christian Church, Elizabethton. Those who plan to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home chapel at 10:15 a.m. on Friday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel or at the residence, 655 Fox Meadow Road, Elizabethton anytime.
