CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Hattie Pauline Lewis, 7 Nov 2004 ----¤¤¤---- Hattie Pauline Lewis, 84, Dry Hollow Road, Elizabethton, died Sunday, November 7, 2004 in Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Oscar P. and Lorina Morton Smith. She retired from K&W Cafeteria in Winston Salem, N.C. She was a member of Union Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Billy Lewis; son Gerald S. Lewis; a daughter, Joy N. Lewis; four brothers and four sisters. Survivors include two sons, Rex Lewis, of Elizabethton, and Dorsett W. Lewis, of Lexington, N.C.; three grandchildren, Billy Lewis, Brian Lewis and Bradley Lewis, of Lexington, N.C.; three great-grandchildren, Marcus Lewis and Derick Lewis of Elizabethton, and Austin Lewis, of Lexington, N.C. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 10, 2004 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bobby Stout officiating. Graveside services and burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 11, 2004 in Caldwell Springs Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Thursday, will be Lawrence Pierce, Dean Pierce, Gurney Pierce, Dallas Pierce, James Smith and Jack SmithHonorary pallbearers will be friends and neighbors.
