CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Arthur Bruce Lunceford, 8 May 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Arthur B. Lunceford Arthur Bruce Lunceford, 79, Stout Hollow Road, Hampton, died Thursday, May 8, 2003, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Mountain Home, following a lengthy illness. Mr. Lunceford was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Conner and Mary Morton Lunceford. He was also preceded in death by a brother. Mr. Lunceford retired from North American Rayon Corporation after 41 years of service. He was a member of Valley Forge Christian Church and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, having served as an Armed Guard. Survivors include his wife, Beulah J. Bowers Lunceford, of the home; a daughter, Janet F. Lunceford, Gray; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Lester T. Lunceford, Hampton, and Jerry B. and Linda Lunceford, Elizabethton; two grandchildren, Heather N. Price, Gray, and Joy L. Hall, Hampton; a great-grandson, Forrest L. Hall, Hampton; and a special sister-in-law and her husband, Patsy and John Presnell, Hampton. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home. LUNCEFORD -- Funeral services for Arthur Bruce Lunceford, 79, Stout Hollow Road, Hampton, who died Thursday, May 8, 2003, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday, May 11, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway- Percy Funeral Home with Mr. Dwayne Calhoun and Mr. Clay Bailey, ministers, and the Rev. C.W. Snodgrass officiating. Music will be under the direction of Ronnie Hall and The Bowers Sisters Singers. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, May 12, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jerry Lunceford, Lester Lunceford, Tony Pierce, Warren Price, Raymond Calhoun and Ray Price. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Hall, Rufus Marlow, Mac Hill, Cale Garrison, George Williams, Bob Morrell, George Church, Howard Presnell, John Presnell, Stewart Blackburn and Robert Wilson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Friends may also call at the residence, 155 Stout Hollow Road, Hampton, at any time.
