Isiah Conner Lunceford, 89, Rt. 2, Hampton, died Tuesday morning in the
Veteran's Administration Medical Center Hospital, following an extended
illness.  Mr. Lunceford was a native of Carter County.  He was a retired
farmer, an Army Veteran of World War I, and a member of the Hampton Christian
Church.  Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Vina Vines Lunceford of the home;
one son, Arthur Lunceford, Hampton; two step sons, John Presnell and Howard
Presnell, both of Hampton, three step daughters, Mrs. Ann Pierce, Hampton,
Mrs. Wanda Birchfield, Elizabethton, and Mrs. Betty Ann Cates, Watauga; one
sister, Mrs. Nancy Roberts, Hampton.  Three grandchildren, 11 step
grandchildren and two step great grandchildren also survive.  Hathaway-Percy
Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.

(Isiah was the son of William Carter Lunceford and Rachel Heaton.  Isiah's
first wife was Mary B. Morton 1899-1967.)
