Wanda N. Lyons, 75, Log Cabin Road, Elizabethton, died Thursday, July 
29, 2004, at Johnson City Medical Center Hospital following a brief illness.
Mrs. Lyons was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late 
Harrison and Eliza Hollaway Hardin. She was also preceded in death by two 
sisters and five brothers.

Mrs. Lyons was a charter member of Beck Mountain Baptist Church and was a 
longtime Sunday school teacher and Sunday school secretary.

Survivors include her husband, Floyd Lyons, of the home; two sons and 
daughters-in-law, Lloyd "Buster" and Carolyn Lyons and Dennis and Vickie 
Lyons, all of Elizabethton; one daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Kenneth 
Carden, Elizabethton; six grandchildren, Darrell Lyons, Tara Irvin, Shane 
Lyons, Heather Olvera, Ashley Carden and Aimee Carden; nine great-
grandchildren; one brother, Glen Hardin, Elizabethton; and two sisters, 
Desiree Maupin, Elizabethton, and Arcy Triebe, Kingsport. Several nieces 
and nephews also survive.

The funeral service was conducted at 8 p.m. Saturday, July 31, in the 
Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home in Elizabethton with Rev. Gary 
Edwards and Rev. Ronnie Campbell officiating. Music was under the direction 
of Rev. Ronnie Campbell. The family received friends in the funeral home 
chapel from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday, prior to the funeral service. Friends 
may also call at the residence, 135 Log Cabin Road, Elizabethton, any time. 
The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, 
August 1, at Hardin Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be the deacons of 
Beck Mountain Baptist Church: Jerry Bowers, Houston Timbs, Mark Garrison, 
John Pierce, Eddie Sams, Ken Thomas, Johnny Hobbs and Glen Hardin. Honorary 
pallbearers will be the men of Beck Mountain Baptist Church. Those who 
plan to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home 
chapel at 1:15 p.m. Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery. Those who 
prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations in memory of Mrs. 
Lyons to Beck Mountain Baptist Church, Building Fund, 2797 Siam Road,
