CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Nina Belle Roten Lyons, 4 Sep 2004 ----¤¤¤---- Nina B. Lyons Nina Belle Roten Lyons, 84, of Sawyer Brown Road, Nashville, died Saturday, September 4, 2004, at Green Hill Health Care, Nashville, following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Lyons was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Hiram Carl and Ina Effie Hyder Roten. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Glen E. Lyons, in 1974. Mrs. Lyons was a retired secretary with the Escambia County Vocational Education, Pensacola, Fla., and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elizabethton. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Glenda Jean Lyons Simpson and Wayne Simpson, Nashville; a brother and sister-in-law, William D. and Betty Roten, Elizabethton; two grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, Mark Wayne and Melissa Simpson, Memphis, and Richard Burke and Sunnae Hiler, Benbrook, Texas; and three great-grandchildren, Michael Carter Simpson, Memphis, Richard Burke Hiler II and Mason Luke Hiler, both of Benbrook, Texas. Several nieces also survive. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 7, in the Masonic Section of Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Wayne Simpson officiating. The family will receive friends in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home from 1 until 2 p.m. Tuesday.
