Frances M. McGuff 

Frances Miller McGuff, 73, 207 South Hills Drive, Apt. A, Elizabethton, died 

Thursday, October 21, 2005, at Johnson City Medical Center following a lengthy 

illness. 

Mrs. McGuff was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Gurney 

Elmer and Nellie Beatrice Richardson Miller. In addition to her parents, she 

was preceded in death by her husband, Rayburn McGuff, a daughter, Shirley 

Wagner, a grandson, Kenneth R. Sharp, and a great-grandson, Cody Campbell. 

Mrs. McGuff attended Valley Forge Church of God and was a homemaker. She 

enjoyed spending time with her friends in South Hills. 

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Kathy Taylor, Dearborn, 

Mich.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Bud O'Quinn, Watauga, Donna 

Green and Kenneth Sharp, Detroit, Mich., and Wilma and Paul Blackston, 

Elizabethton; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a sister, Sarah 

Ruth O'Quinn, Elizabethton; and a brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Tina 

Miller of Michigan. In addition to several nieces and nephews, four special 

friends also survive, Corda, Trim, Bugs and Betty. 

The funeral service for Mrs. McGuff will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday, October 

23, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Childress 

officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, prior to 

the service in the chapel, or at other times at the residence of Mrs. McGuff. 

The graveside service and interment will be at 10 a.m. Monday, October 24, in 

the Garland Cemetery, Stoney Creek Community. Everyone is asked to meet the 

family at 9:15 a.m. Monday at the funeral home to go in procession to the 

cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Robert Blackston, Robert Taylor, Kevin 

Taylor, David Campbell, Eric O'Quinn and Larry Moreland. Honorary pallbearers 

will be Jessie Campbell, Jonathan Rexroad and Kyle Sharp. Online condolences
