Ms. McKeehan was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late W.H. and Emma Ledford Morton. She was a homemaker and was of the Freewill Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Potter; two sons, Roger McKeehan and Jimmie McKeehan; and several brothers and sisters. Ms. McKeehan is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Donna McKeehan of Johnson City; two grandsons, Dan Potter of Elizabethton and Nick McKeehan of Johnson City; three granddaughters, Wendy Potter and Ashlee McKeehan, both of Johnson City, and Richelle Shepard of Elizabethton; one great grandson, Jordan Potter of Johnson City; one great granddaughter, Katelyn McKeehan of Elizabethton; and a special person, Johnny Reed of Jonesville, N.C. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Ms. McKeehan will be conducted on Tuesday, December 19, 2006, at 7 p.m. in the Riverside Chapel of the Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with the Rev. Russell Potter officiating. Music will be under the direction of Wendy Potter, soloist. The family will receive friends in the funeral Home chapel from 5:30 to 7 p.m. prior to the service and at the home of her son, Steve McKeehan, 747 Georgia St., Johnson City, at any time. The graveside service and interment will be conducted on Wednesday, December 20, 2006, at 10 a.m. in the McKeehan Cemetery. Those wishing to attend should meet at the cemetery at 9:55 a.m. Active pallbearers will be Jack Morton, Ronnie Morton, Randy Hyder, Aaron Potter, Dan Potter, Perry Grindstaff, and Nick McKeehan.
