Miller Charles Glenn Miller, 76, 640 Golf Course Drive, Elizabethton, died unexpectedly Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at his residence. Mr. Miller was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Charles L. and Nora Hart Miller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Bonnie Cash, Jennie Wilson and Ruth Hopson, and a brother, Larry Miller. Mr. Miller was a retired employee of Raytheon Corporation and a member of Slagles United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Peterson Miller, of the home; a daughter, Lauren Carey, and a grandson, Logan Carey, both of Johnson City. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside services for Mr. Miller will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, April 7, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery with Pastor Steven Harmon officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Captain Lynn H. Folsom VFW Post # 2166 and the Tennessee Army National Guard. Friends and family will meet at the funeral home chapel at 1:15 p.m. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home at anytime. Active pallbearers will be Bill Grindstaff, Jimmy Jones, Elbert Hyder, Bucky Peters, Tom Hilton, Kyle Hart and Ken Rentmeester. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Captain Lynn H. Folsom VFW Post #2166, the American Legion, members of the Raytheon Retirees Golf Association and friends and neighbors. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 201 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City, TN 37601 or to Slagles United Methodist Church, 164 Southgate Drive, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
