Miller Florence S. Miller, 80, 199 Bud Miller Road, Roan Mountain, died Monday, December 12, 2005, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief illness. Mrs. Miller was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Felix and Bertha Oaks Palmer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Edward "Bud" Miller, December 6, 2000. Mrs. Miller was a member of Morgan Branch Free Will Baptist Church and recently had attended Grace Baptist Church in Elizabethton. She was a homemaker who loved to play the organ and had served as church organist. She had been very active in Ladies Aid at Morgan Branch Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Elmer Ellis, Roan Mountain; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mitchell and Rebecca Miller, Elizabethton, and William and Karen Miller, Johnson City; five grandchildren, Melinda Bennet, Grantham, N.C., Ruth Ann Harris, Dudley, N.C., Angela Miller, Elizabethton, Joshua Hodge and William Miller, both of Johnson City; a great- granddaughter, Cailee Grace Bennett, Grantham, N.C.; and a sister, Della Mae Turbyfill, Cranberry, N.C. The funeral service for Mrs. Miller will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 15, at Morgan Branch Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Owens, Rev. Keith Gwyn and Pastor Jerry Cannon officiating. Interment will follow in the Richardson Cemetery, Roan Mountain. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 14, in the Rhododendron Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Roan Mountain. Friends may also call at the residence of her daughter, Patty, 176 Bud Miller Road, Roan Mountain, or at the residence of her son, Mitchell, 1759 West G Street, Elizabethton, at other times. Active pallbearers will be Richard Guinn, Ronnie Miller, C.L. Thomas, Randy Grindstaff, Jack Hoilman, Jake Potter and Walter McKinney. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Morgan Branch Free Will Baptist Church and friends and neighbors. Condolence messages may be sent to the Miller family at www.tetrickfuneralhome.com.
