Morrell Mrs. Leona W. Morrell, 86, 606 Fourth Avenue, Hampton, died Monday, February 27, 2006, at Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness. Mrs. Morrell was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late George and Lena Gouge Willis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Morrell Jr.; an infant daughter, Kay Morrell; three brothers, James Lee Willis, Earl Willis and John Hardin; and her step-father, Floyd "Shorty" Hardin. Mrs. Morrell was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, Hampton. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Peggy Morrell, Indian Trail, N.C.; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Tony Oliver, Marietta, Ga.; a grandson and his wife, Joey and Perri Morrell, Knoxville; and a granddaughter and her husband, Angie and Cody Caddell, Tuttle, Okla. One niece, four nephews and special friends, Bernice Shoun and Smith and Shelby Davenport, also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Morrell will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 28, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with Rev. James Archer and Rev. Mike Hyder officiating. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday or at the residence, 606 Fourth Avenue, Hampton, at anytime. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday for the graveside service. To those who desire memorials may be made to the Carter County Rescue Squad, P.O.
