Margie Marshall

Margie Ruth McClain Marshall, 76, 219 North East 27th Avenue, Big 
Stone Gap, Virginia, died Tuesday, November 5, 2002, at her residence. 
Mrs. Marshall was a native of Roan Mountain and was a daughter of the 
late Jack and Annie Wilson McClain. She was preceded in death by her 
husband, Herman Ray Marshall, September 25, 1997; by an infant daughter,
Judy Mae Odom, and by one brother and three sisters. Mrs. Marshall had 
lived in Cleveland, Ohio, from 1953 to 1981 before returning to Carter 
County. She had lived in Virginia for the past six months. Mrs. Marshall 
operated Margie's Beauty Salon in Cleveland for several years. She was 
a member of Burbank Free Will Baptist Church, Roan Mountain. 
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Perry Fair, 
Cleveland, Ohio; a son and daughter-in-law, Leon and Judy Odom, Parma, 
Ohio; five sisters, Dorothy Woodby, Blanche Russell and Thelma McClain, 
all of Johnson City; Mabel McClain, Baltimore, Maryland; and Lillian 
Pierce, Kingsport; one brother, Buddy McClain, Roan Mountain; six 
grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandaughter. 
Several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in 
charge of arrangements.
