CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Phillip Haynes McKeehan, 11 Jun 2005 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Phillip Haynes McKeehan, 81, Tester Road, Elizabethton, died Saturday, June 11, 2005, at his residence. Mr. McKeehan was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Henry and Amanda Dugger McKeehan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters. Mr. McKeehan was a faithful member of Oak Grove Christian Church and was a Military Policeman with the United States Air Force during World War II. While in the Service, he served in the following places: England, Belgium, France, Holland and Germany. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Jettie Garver McKeehan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Ray Lyons Sr. and Amanda and Jeff Holt, all of Elizabethton; his grandchildren, Ray Lyons Jr., Molly Lyons, Rachel and Blake Taylor and Travis and Jennifer Holt; his great-grandchildren, Macie MacKenzie and Josie Lyons, Galen White, Sydney Lee and Jackson Taylor and Dakota Holt; his sisters, Phoebe Love Ford, Elizabethton, and Eliza Kyte, Chesapeake, Va.; and his sister-in-law, Minnie McKeehan, Elizabethton. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mr. McKeehan will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday, June 13, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Dr. Robert Shannon officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, in the Freedom Garden of Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, will be Ray Lyons Jr., Travis Holt, Bud McKeehan, Terry McKeehan, Howard Lee McKeehan, Sam Lyons Sr., Jack Chambers and Keith Douglas. Honorary pallbearers will be Galen White, Blake and Jackson Taylor, Dakota Holt, Joe Ford, John McKeehan and his nieces and nephews. The family would also like to express a special "Thank You" to his caregiver and friend, Debbie Eyster; also to Nina B. Phillips, Kenneth and Pearl Jones, Dr. Smalligan, Dr. Stephen Loyd, his nurses at the Johnson City Medical Center, his friends and neighbors and especially his church family. Military Honors will be provided by the Tennessee National Guard. To those who prefer, memorials may be made in memory of Mr. McKeehan to the Michael J.
