Mrs. McKinney was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late John and Birdie Lee Johnson Edney. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Marion C. McKinney, January 15, 1993, two brothers, five sisters, three granddaughters and a grandson. Mrs. McKinney was retired as a CNA from Hermitage Nursing Home and was also a former employee of Leon-Ferenbach, Inc. She was of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Mildred and Otis Roberson and Barbara and D.C. Simerly, all of Hampton, and Virginia and Frank Campbell, Johnson City; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Roy and Francis McKinney and Boyd McKinney, all of Hampton, Roger and Brenda McKinney, Gray, and Ron McKinney, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and a sister, Juanita Julian, Elizabethton. Twelve grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. McKINNEY -- Funeral services for Mrs. Iva Lee Edney McKinney, 82, 403 3rd Street, Hampton, who died Sunday, June 4, 2000, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dan Hyder and Rev. Doug Ranshaw officiating. Charlotte Smith, pianist, will provide the music. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, in the Johnson Cemetery (Crabtree). Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, will be the following grandsons: O.J. Roberson, Kris McKinney, Kory McKinney, Bradley McKinney, Clinton McKinney, Josh Cole and Skyler Cole. Honorary pallbearers will be Otis Roberson, Frank Campbell, D.C. Simerly, Trey Townsend, Leslie Head, Jackie Barnett, Sam Collins, Shannon Shepherd, H.L. Snyder, Dr. Theodore Cruz and a host of special friends. The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to Home Health Care & Hospice. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence. To those who prefer, memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. McKinney to the donor's favorite charity. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday to go to the cemetery. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
