McKinney Irene G. McKinney, 91, formerly of 114 Smith Avenue, Elizabethton, died Sunday, July 1, 2001, at Life Care Center of Elizabethton. Mrs. McKinney was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late Will and Roda Moore Guinn. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George T. McKinney, in 1994, three brothers, Claude, Jess and Frank Guinn, and a sister, Belle Stephenson. Mrs. McKinney was a member of Biltmore Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia "Tootsie" and John Snavely and Joyce and Kelsey Ramey, all of Elizabethton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby Gene and Carolyn McKinney, Townsend, Del., and Billy Jo and Susan McKinney, Elizabethton; grandchildren, Ronnie Snavely, Danny Ray Ramey, David Ramey, Sandy McKinney, Diane "Cookie" Sluder, Judy Vines and Jason McKinney, all of Elizabethton, Mitchell Gene McKinney and Rodney McKinney, both of Delaware; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; a brother, James F. McKinney, 91, formerly of 114 Smith Avenue, Elizabethton, who died Sunday, July 1, 2001, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Chapel of Peace, with the Rev. Bill Ferguson officiating. Music will be under the direction of a great-granddaughter, Michelle Sluder. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 5, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Stephenson, Doug Beckette, Larry Pippin, Ronnie Trivette, Walt Slagle, employees of Life Care Center of Elizabethton, Dr. Jerry Gastineau and men of Biltmore Baptist Church. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
