McQueen Kenneth Lee McQueen, 71, 804 N. Walnut Street, Elizabethton, died Saturday, April 13, 2002, at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. McQueen was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Lee and Deborah Smith McQueen. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, F.M. McQueen, Harry McQueen, J.D. McQueen and Shirley McQueen, and a granddaughter, Victoria Faith McQueen. Mr. McQueen was of the Baptist faith. He was a retired sheet metal worker with the TVA and a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union No. 5. He was a member of the Captain Lynn H. Folsom VFW Post #2166 and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was also an avid fisherman. Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Jean McQueen, of the home; five sons and four daughters-in-law, Randy and Nona McQueen, Danny and Annie McQueen, David and Shelby McQueen and Edward Gilbert, all of Elizabethton; three brothers, Ivan McQueen, Charles McQueen and George McQueen, all of Elizabethton; three sisters, Beatrice Elliott and Margie Lyons, both of Elizabethton, and Sue Lady, Johnson City; and 11 grandchildren, Brandi McQueen, Brandon McQueen, Alexandria McQueen, Katarina McQueen, Julie Heaton, Edward Gilbert III, Tammy Gilbert, Kevin Gilbert, Donna Gilbert, Larry Gilbert Jr. and Charlie Gilbert. Walnut Street, Elizabethton, who died Saturday, April 13, 2002, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday, April 15, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Davis officiating. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Military Honors accorded by the Captain Lynn H. Folsom VFW Post #2166. Active pallbearers will be Glen McQueen, Kyle McQueen, Terry McQueen, Steve McQueen, Jimmy McQueen, Eddie Townsend, Steve Estep, Bobby Potter and Dewey Renfro. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Kyle Colvett, Staff and Doctors of the Regional Cancer Center at Johnson City Medical Center Hospital, Dr. Robert Taylor, Dr. David Fenner and the Staff of the Elizabethton Parks and Rec Department.
