CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Florence Elizabeth McQueen, 19 Jan 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Florence E. McQueen Florence Elizabeth McQueen, 82, 200 North East Street, Elizabethton, died Sunday, January 19, 2003 in the Life Care Center. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Ree H. and Bertha Jenkins McQueen. She was a member of the Biltmore Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Tammy Smith, Hampton; two sisters, Gladys Birchfield, Jonesborough, and Evelyn Lowarence, Elizabethton; one grandson, Lance Corpal David W. Smith, USMC, Annapolis, Md.; one step-grandson, Chad Lunceford, Lynchburg, Va. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. MCQUEEN -- Graveside services for Florence Elizabeth McQueen, 82, 200 North East Street, Elizabethton, who died Sunday, January 19, 2003, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2003 in the Vaughn Cemetery with the Rev. James Archer officiating. Burial will follow the service. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday will be Steve Lowrance, Bruce Carter, Richard Isaacs, Rick McQueen, Scott McQueen, Kevin Rainbolt, Nigel McQueen, and Martin Meredith. Honorary pallbearers will be James Glover, Kenny Cole, and Dr. Jerry Gastineau. Friends may call any time at the funeral home.
