CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Ollie Mae McQueen, 1 Jul 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Ollie Mae McQueen Ollie Mae McQueen, age 84, North Roan Street, Elizabethton, died Tuesday, July 1, 2003 at Life Care Center of Elizabethton following an extended illness. A native of West Jefferson, N.C., she had lived in Elizabethton most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Samuel and Nora Black Caudill. Mrs. McQueen attended Roan Street Free Will Baptist Church. She was a former employee of Franklin Club and Lakeshore Restaurants, and former caregiver for several people including Dr. H.J. Derthick. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry E. McQueen, 1960, and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include three daughers and two sons-in-law, Shirley Rambo, of Elizabethton; Ruth and Ray Vaughn, of Greeneville; Mary and Merrill Davis, of Greeneville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kyle and Gail McQueen, Hampton; Samuel Lee and Helen McQueen, Green Mountain, N.C.; one brother, Jack Caudill, of Lancing, N.C.; one sister, Pat Davis, of Cleveland, Ohio; 6 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton is in charge of arrangements. 423- 542-2232 MCQUEEN -- The funeral service for Ollie Mae McQueen, age 84, North Roan Street, Elizabethton who died Tuesday, July 1, 2003 will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, July 4, 2003 at Tetrick Funeral Home Riverside Chapel with Rev. Roger Crigger officiating. The eulogy will be provided by Cameron Lee McQueen, grandson. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2003 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Terry McQueen, Bobby Jack Lady, Glen McQueen, Eddie Townsend, Terry Trivett, Mike Feathers, David McQueen and Rick Russell. Honorary pallbearers will be Albert Oliver, Ivan McQueen, Charles McQueen, George McQueen, F.D. Elliott, and James Trivett. Those who plan to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2003 to go in procession to the cemetery.
